Stamshaw is looking to appoint an Education Keyworker to join the team on a fixed term contract or secondment (term time only) from 1st September until 31 August 2013.
We are looking for a creative and motivated member of staff who is able to develop excellent relationships with highly vulnerable and challenging young people.
The role provides the opportunity to work with young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural development needs in an education setting offering personalised individual learning programmes designed to overcome emotional barriers to learning.
The main functions of the post are;
To develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate a programme of creative, flexible and accredited learning opportunities that meet the individual social, emotional and behavioural development needs of a small group of highly vulnerable and challenging young people for whom all other educational provision has broken down.
To undertake keywork responsibility for a small number of young people.
To develop implement, monitor and review Individual Learning Plans which will identify individual emotional and social learning needs and strategies developed to overcome barriers to learning.
To take lead responsibility for planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating agreed curriculum areas to meet the individual learning needs of young people.
To monitor and record young people’s progress and attainment.
To create a welcoming safe and stimulating learning environment in which young people can be supported to develop a sense of belonging.
